Red Cross: Friendly Calls Program, Community Services and Support

Red Cross: Friendly Calls Program, Community Services and Support

April 9, 2025 (10:00 AM - 11:30 AM) (CDT)

Description

The Canadian Red Cross Friendly Calls program helps address feelings of loneliness and isolation that so many have experienced in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The program matches adults with trained volunteers who connect with them regularly to check in, provide emotional support, encourage healthy coping strategies, and suggest connections to community resources and other referral services.

Scheduled phone calls are tailored to meet each person’s needs, ranging from a two-minute check-in to a longer, more social chat.

Pre-Registration Required. If possible, this webinar will be recorded and added to the RTAM YouTube channel. A minimum of 10 participants is required for this webinar to proceed.
