Retirement planning isn’t just about hitting a magic number—it’s about picturing the life you want and ensuring your savings can support it. We help participants think about their goals for the next 1, 3, and 5 years, and then start to build a plan to reach them. The workshop will also highlight Canada’s main sources of retirement income: public pensions (CPP/QPP and OAS), employer pensions, RRSPs, TFSAs and other savings . We’ll show participants how to use the government’s Retirement Income Calculator and other tools to estimate their future income and test different retirement ages. We’ll end by encouraging attendees to set clear goals, revisit their plan annually, and consider factors such as health care costs, taxes and evolving family responsibilities. Participants will leave with a solid framework for creating a personalized, flexible retirement plan instead of relying on generic “rules of thumb.”
