Description
Join us for an hour-long virtual session exploring the vital connection between aging, cognition, and communication. Drawing from key research in Psychology and Speech Language Pathology, we'll examine how our thinking and communication abilities evolve as we age, while highlighting evidence-based strategies for maintaining cognitive wellness into the future.
Colleen Penner Podaima, PhD - Colleen is a former school psychologist, with 25 years of experience in the St. James Assiniboia, Winnipeg, and River East Transcona school divisions. Following this, she served as Psychology Consultant for Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning. Now retired from her consulting role, she works as a therapist at Peace of Mind Therapy and Consultation.
Leslie Goerzen - Leslie is a Registered Speech-Language Pathologist with over thirty years experience. She began her career in the northeast school division of Agassiz, now Sunrise. Leslie retired in the winter of 2023 from her role as Consultant - SLP, Student Services Unit, Manitoba Education and Early Childhood Learning, after 19 years of supporting SLPs and schools across the province.
A minimum of 10 members is required for this presentation to take place.
