Thank you for visiting the Retired Teachers Association of Manitoba (RTAM)! 

We are 10,500+ members, between the ages of 55 and 112... and we're growing! We're excited you're here with us today and that you'll be joining our community of retirees for years to come. It is our pleasure to help you stay active, connected and engaged in your retirement.

Please choose the appropriate membership type below and start filling in your membership application. This marks the first steps in your RTAM journey, and we'll be with you every step of the way!

  • 12 month membership
  • For anyone who worked in the education system (school, college, university)
  • For those who can show 5+ years service within the industry and within Manitoba
  • Allows access to RTAM member benefits and Johnson Insurance plan
  • Allows access to RTAM events and seminars
  • Allows service to RTAM Committees
  • Does not allow service to the RTAM Board of Directors
  • Does not allow voting at the RTAM Annual General Meeting
  • 12 month membership
  • For a surviving spouse/partner of an RTAM member.
  • For a spouse/partner of an RTAM member. 
  • Allows access to RTAM member benefits and Johnson Insurance plan (Medoc Travel Plan only)
  • Allows access to RTAM events and seminars
  • Allows service on RTAM Committees
  • Does not allow service to the RTAM Board of Directors
  • Does not allow voting at the RTAM Annual General Meeting
  • 12 month membership
  • For educators from Independent or Private schools.
  • For those who hold a pension other than TRAF. 
  • For those who are not eligible to access their TRAF pension before the allotted time. 
  • For those who taught 5+ years in Manitoba before retirement
  • Allows access to RTAM member benefits and Johnson Insurance plan (Medoc Travel Plan only)
  • Allows access to RTAM events and seminars
  • Allows service on RTAM Committees
  • Allows service in the RTAM Board of Directors
  • Allows voting at the RTAM Annual General Meeting
  • 12 month membership
  • For and Educator, resident of Manitoba, who is in receipt of a pension from a teachers' fund in a Canadian jurisdiction outside of Manitoba. 
  • For a non-Educator of a TRAF pension.
  • For an Educator of a Manitoba Civil Service Superannuation Fund (CSSF) pension, or a resident in Manitoba and in a receipt of an equivalent pension from a Canadian jurisdiction outside of Manitoba
  • A person who holds a teaching certificate, who is not retired, who is contributing to TRAF, the CSSF, or its equivalent in a Canadian jurisdiction. 
  • A person who is not retired, who is contributing to a Manitoba university or college pension fund, or its equivalent in a Canadian jurisdiction outside of Manitoba. 
  • The spouse/partner of a full or associate member of RTAM. 
  • The surviving spouse/partner of a full or associate RTAM member. 
  • Allows access to RTAM member benefits and Johnson Insurance plan (Medoc Travel Plan only)
  • Allows access to RTAM events and seminars
  • Allows service on RTAM Committees
  • Does not allow service to the RTAM Board of Directors
  • Does not allow voting at the RTAM Annual General Meeting
  • 12 month membership
  • For those who have a TRAF pension number
  • For retired teachers who taught full time for 5+ years in Manitoba
  • Allows access to RTAM member benefits and Johnson Insurance Benefits
  • Allows access to RTAM events and seminars
  • Allows service on RTAM Committees
  • Allows service on the RTAM Board of Directors
  • Allows voting at the RTAM Annual General Meeting
